EDED20422 – PP2 (e-learning)Assessment 1 – WebQuest Design & Development – 50%

Length:

500 word (+/- 10%) synopsis and WebQuest URL.
Outcomes:
This task assesses all course learning outcomes stated on page 1.

Details:
This is an individual task that requires you to find a Key Learning Area (KLA) in their learning environment that would benefit from the design and development of WebQuest. Subsequent to this investigation, you are required to design and develop a working WebQuest that meets the KLA requirements.

Steps Required:
  1. Research Webquests and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) - consult your Course Website.
  2. Conduct your KLA investigation and identify the area you wish to target with a WebQuest - this could be one where Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) have not been used previously and/or where student performance has not met your expectations.
  3. Submit an action plan (template supplied at the bottom of the Unit 1 - WebQuest page on this Website) to the "PP2" Assessment Task 1 discussion forum and invite your peers and lecturer to provide constructive feedback. This needs to be completed by Friday of CQU Week 7 so that there is sufficient time to analyse the feedback and complete the design. Failure to meet this deadline may result no lecturer feedback due to time constaints. The action plan should include the curriculum outcomes and a rough idea of the scenario you intend to design.
  4. Incorporate the feedback from the discussion forum into your design and develop your WebQuest.
  5. Ensure that you trial the tools and resources with a student Web account to make sure that these are available for student use. If they are not available, talk to your IT person or librarian for advice on having these unblocked for student use. In some cases, education autority policy may prohibit the use of some tools and you will need to select an alternative that is available - again, consult with your IT person or librarian.
  6. Trial your WebQuest with your students and reflect on the experience and the feedback from your class.
  7. Modify your WebQuest so as to incorporate the feedback and reflections.
  8. Write a short (500 words +/- 10% maximum) synopsis of the process and the URL of your WebQuest and post this to your professional Wiki.
